spring lusts
I am positively drooling over Orla Kiely's Spring 2011 line! I always get so excited over spring every year. It's my absolute favorite season, both in fashion and in weather. What's not to love? Flowers bloom, trees sprout back to life, and I get to wear spring dresses and sandals! I'm planning on wearing more dresses and skirts this spring, and my radar is definitely honed in on this amazing line.

longing for fall
Without fail, every year around this time I get very antsy for fall to start. I miss slipping into socks and boots, and most of all, I start to miss layering stuff between cardigans and jackets...or maybe I just get sick of the excessive desert heat. I think it's a combination of all of the above.
A.P.C.'s fall 2010 offerings have this nautical-collegiate feel that's somewhere between old-man and preppy chic. I cannot wait for mid-late September to get here.

summatime lust
From center and clockwise:VPL insertion bra, Opening Ceremony shorts, Acrobats of God "Nouba" sandals, Pamela Love talon cuff, Noir pyramid bracelet, Contributor by Rachel Comey canvas and leather satchel.
Just some pieces I've been mildly obsessing over lately. Notice the lack of a top half to this ensemble? It's merely because this VPL bra is too brilliant to be covered up by anything besides a sheer tee or a barely-there tank...hell, I'd wear it by itself if that were acceptable in daily life. The shorts are exactly the kind of comfy staple piece that my closet's been needing. (Plus, an elastic waist is always a huge plus since I've been too lazy to bother with buttons and zippers lately)
As far as the accessories, Pamela Love's insanely gothic-fab talon cuff is my ultimate fantasy piece...and by that I mean it's way out of my budget. I did recently find an amazing Pamela Love-inspired raven skull necklace on etsy, on the cheap (will post when I get it). The Noir bracelet is among my favorites from their classics collection and really goes with absolutely anything.
The classic canvas satchel (UO's exclusive collaboration w/ the amazing Rachel Comey) is a summer essential that's as timelessly cool as it is practical. Hmm... "practical" is a word I often find myself using to justify most purchases...and it usually works quite well.
To round things up, the modern and minimal nude sandal by AoG has all the elements I love; It's simple, neutral, and has a dose of unique detail.

tavik
Fear of weird tanlines aside, I am in love with Tavik's "Duff" swimsuit. The zipper is what makes it for me.

neutral territory
Spring 2010.
Can I just say how much i love Lover's spring neutrals? (love Lover...that sounds funny) I am obsessed with everything neutral . One look at my shoe collection will tell you as much. Now I just need to build a more decent white and khaki wardrobe.

Just some quick highlights from the Project tradeshow this week. Everywhere you look, it's really all about the almost bi-polar juxtaposition of the ultra feminine with tough, badass details like studs, spikes, combat boots, and devil horns. That's what fashion is all about, delving into those polar opposites and everything in between...
