pike place + occupy seattle
I finally got around to scanning some of the film photos I took recently. These are from an afternoon stroll we took through Pike Place Market. We had lunch at the Pike Place Brewery and wandered around for a bit after. I always enjoy the craziness that goes on around downtown Seattle...lots of eccentric and interesting people to see.

the windy city part 1
Chicago was incredible. We managed to squeeze in a lot in a few days, and I'm already thinking we'll be back next year to check out the museums. We tried two different pizza joints in the city: Gino's East and Lou Malnati's. I have to admit, I liked Lou's better! I also loved Ed Debevic's, a '50s-style diner where the waiters "act" rude and smartass-y towards the customers. Our waiter "Popcorn" wasn't all that rude...more funny than anything. I'm a sucker for diners and diner food, what can I say.
More photos to come soon...I've been crazy busy since getting back and it's only going to get busier well into the holidays! Glad we were lucky enough to take a few days off with some good friends. I love taking actual vacations.

back home
Just got back from Chicago and Seattle and adjusting to the lack of green and fall foliage. Be back soon with more pics.

leisurley stroll
Another long week has come and gone...it makes me wish I was still taking this nice morning walk around San Clemente. I could feel fall just around the corner...not so much here in the desert, but definitely in Southern California.
One another note, I'm excited to see Band of Horses this Monday. It's been awhile since my last concert.
I hope this weekend will feel longer than the last one did, although I highly doubt it. One thing I badly need to do is start working out on a more regular basis again...or better yet, get back into yoga. I am in desperate need of calm and centering in my life. I feel like I've been off my axis for quite some time now...

harvest moon
I took this earlier tonight...I missed the sunset Harvest Moon which really bummed me out. I was stuck at my desk and forgot about it.
This was the best I could do tonight. It's really cool to close the first day of fall with a full moon.

all good things must come to an end
*the last two frames of my latest Ilford 120mm roll. Kind of fitting...the end of a roll of film, the end of a season.
It's September! I can't believe summer is nearing its end. It's bittersweet, but I'm actually really excited for fall.

longing for fall
Without fail, every year around this time I get very antsy for fall to start. I miss slipping into socks and boots, and most of all, I start to miss layering stuff between cardigans and jackets...or maybe I just get sick of the excessive desert heat. I think it's a combination of all of the above.
A.P.C.'s fall 2010 offerings have this nautical-collegiate feel that's somewhere between old-man and preppy chic. I cannot wait for mid-late September to get here.
