sf/napa weekend

These were from the SF trip I went on last month to visit some friends. We went out to St. Helena, Napa, which was a lot farther than we'd anticipated. We only got to do one winery--Castello di Amorosa. They have a lovely replica of a medieval Italian castle, which was pretty impressive in terms of all the detail that went into everything. 

It's funny how I never get tired of San Francisco. I guess the song is right...

Just some random snapshots from San Francisco. The adorable Persian in the last photo is Max, my friends' cat. He's such a natural in front of the camera. 

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been a little preoccupied lately...actually, that's not true, I've been preoccupied for awhile now. Ever get into those creative ruts where you feel like everything seems to suck the inspiration out of you on a daily basis? I think I need an extra curricular photography project that has nothing to do with work to snap me out of it. Or maybe a relaxing roadtrip might do the trick...

outside lands '11

Sorry for the lack of posts, last week was a little nuts, and it doesn't look like it'll slow down anytime soon.

These were taken (w/ the Vignette app on Android) from Friday's Outside Lands. They wouldn't let any cameras with detachable lenses in the show, so phone pics it was! I think I would have broken my camera had I brought it anyway.

My phone died halfway through the day, so I missed some of the more memorable parts...like the Shins. Their show was so, so amazing. They've always been up there in my favorite bands list, but I'd never seen them live until that day. Needless to say I was on cloud 9.

Will try to post more photos from my weekend trip to SF, I managed to finish one 35mm roll, should be back from the lab in a few days. G'nite for now! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yes...more San Francisco photos that I hadn't posted yet...It's a bottomless pit.

I miss being in a big city...and all the hustle and bustle that comes with it.

This weekend cannot come fast enough. It's been one hell of a week and I need to unwind and recharge. Feels like I'm running on empty. Be back shortly.

Apparently, this blog has not seen the last of my San Francisco photos...I finally stopped being lazy and got my 120mm film from that trip developed. There were more double-exposed photos than any roll I've ever shot...lame. Oh, and I wish there was a better lab out here in Vegas, the one I go to is too far and too expensive.

On another note, is it really August already?! Where does the time go? I'm actually excited...I can see fall in the horizon!

Please forgive the over-saturation of San Francisco photos in my blog lately. Apparently, I just can't help myself...something about being in this city really gets me going. Inspiration is everywhere, from the interesting people, beautiful Victorian homes (aka "Painted Ladies"), gritty city streets, and cool sculptures...It's easy to fall in love with San Fransisco.

We've been wanting to check out the Tipsy Pig since we saw it on that Food Buddha show.  They've got a pretty nice beer selection and the mac n' cheese is insane good (although I had to pick the tiny pieces of bacon off). Pretty pricey for "bar food", but it's a great place for good beer and a baseball game.
