point dume
It was so nice to get away for my birthday this year. I love heading out to Malibu to just get away from it all. You definitely can't keep me from the beach for too long. Just looking at these photos are giving me withdrawals. One day...

rainy in the big apple
Some quick phone pics: brgr- one of my faves, rainy NYC, Empire State Building in the fog, Ellie Goulding at Lucky FABB...all in all a good trip to the Big Apple (minus the rain and wind).
Just got back from a whirlwind work trip to NYC and I'm not sure what I'm doing still awake since it's almost 3am in my brain right now...I guess my internal clock is die-hard West Coast ;)
Well, I should really be attempting to finish some laundry...and perhaps catch some shuteye...I think I prefer the latter. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

final sunday of august
Just some random snapshots from San Francisco. The adorable Persian in the last photo is Max, my friends' cat. He's such a natural in front of the camera.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been a little preoccupied lately...actually, that's not true, I've been preoccupied for awhile now. Ever get into those creative ruts where you feel like everything seems to suck the inspiration out of you on a daily basis? I think I need an extra curricular photography project that has nothing to do with work to snap me out of it. Or maybe a relaxing roadtrip might do the trick...

san diego through my phone
click photo to enlarge
Just got back from a quick work trip to SD. I didn't take any cameras but couldn't help but snap a few shots with my phone. The weather was ridiculously amazing, especially considering how hot it is in Vegas. I did a lot of walking around Gaslamp and we even got a quick detour in to Mission Beach to ride bikes for a bit. It's so nice to be home though; got lots to do (when is this not the case?). I'm also really excited for this week- Dodgers v. Phillies game this Wednesday, back at work Thursday for a long but eventful day, and then it's off to my beloved SF for Outside Lands! It's gonna be a long week indeed.
Hopefully tomorrow(well, today technically) will be relaxing, but somehow, I doubt it. ;) Hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend.

where is my mind
Some film photos from our LA trip. More to come soon...
Just a few things on my mind recently:
*I hate the awkward stage my hair is going through right now as I try to grow it out again. I've been taking these supplements to help it along.
*Our upcoming Dodgers v. Phillies game in August. We're so bummed at how things are playing out this season...I don't really like to talk about it.
*Really wanting/needing this and this.
*Starting to plan for a Chicago trip (finally). It'll be our first time ever. Wrigley field here we come!
*I really need to go vintage shopping soon. Need a new bag for fall but so over spending $$.
*Must get inspired and take photos downtown to enter this contest. I never win anything cool, but this is a good motivation to get back to taking photos around town.
*I'm craving Ted's Chocolate Haupia Pie. I would (almost) kill for some now.

there is more to explore
Taken in Manhattan Beach.
I'm usually more fond of old wooden piers, but since aqua is my favorite color, I couldn't resist.
It's been an unusually rainy and gloomy week here in Las Vegas. We went to Vegas strEATS this weekend and got totally rained on. I must admit, it is a nice change of pace from the usual triple-digit heat we get in July.

LA birthday
Just got back from a quick trip to LA for my birthday. This was the first time in a long time that I went out of town for my actual b-day, so it was definitely much appreciated. I didn't realize how much I missed the City of Angels until we got there.
These are just some random phone pics I threw together in a hurry. More "real" pics to come later.
It was such a relaxing trip. I even got a pretty ripe sunburn from riding beach cruisers down Venice Beach. You know it's been a good week when you come home with a sunburn!
Until next time!

here and there
Some remnants of summer memories...I guess it's my way of holding on to days gone by. I feel like it all went by so fast. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

gazing out through windows and lenses
Been insanely busy lately in every aspect of life...I'm starting to feel like a caged animal of some sort. I can't wait to get a much-needed break. I just realized it's been weeks since we went anywhere and that needs to change soon. It's crazy how one can get so caught up in the daily grind and seemingly forget how to just relax altogether...yikes.
Speaking of crazy...I'm actually dragging myself out to a club on a Wednesday night to see some DJs do a tribute for the late DJ AM. It's nearly unheard of for me these days (yes, I've morphed into some old married lady) , so I guess it's going to be a Redbull kind of day tomorrow at work. Sugar-free, of course.
Hope everybody has a great rest of the week...I'll try to post/take more pics soon.

raspberry bavarian creme
I finally made raspberry bavarian creme- from Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Ever since I saw the movie, I've been wanting to try it out before the summer was over. I used organic raspberries and didn't substitute low-fat creme or artificial sugar for the real things...I just don't see the point in skimping on desert. If you're going to indulge, go all the way.

summer daze
A little break from San Fran photos...These were leftovers from Memorial Day weekend. Some of my favorite things: flowers, cupcakes, pool+good beer, summer berries...
Ah, lazy summer days....they're my fave. Although summer doesn't seem as monumental when you're in the "real" world outside of school, it still manages to retain some of its magic no matter how old we get. Its amazing how the little things in life often yield the most pleasure and joy.

heating up
Took this photo last summer. My first attempt at TTV with a garage sale-find dualflex.
This old refurbished fan only has one setting: hyper-speed. That's just adequate enough with these hellish 110degree summers. I have to mentally brace myself for the heat each and every year. You never get used to it. And when people say "It's a dry heat"...they're full of shit.
